Daniel “Danny” Henry Keenan was born on June 14, 1946, in Brunswick, ME, to Clara (White) and Ralph Henry Keenan. He grew up as one of seven siblings and attended local schools in Brunswick before enlisting in the army at the age of 17. Danny served in Germany and Vietnam during his military career. He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his brother Charles Keenan from Maine and his sister Dorothy Hydros from California.
On September 12, 1970, Danny married Jewel Louanna Hobbs in Monroe, ME. The couple began their journey together in Bangor, ME, before moving to Monroe, where they took over the family dairy farm. In 1981, they relocated to Florida, where Danny established Keenan Logging and later Keenan Tree Service. During this period, they raised their three children and settled in Keystone Heights, FL, where they spent three decades. Danny retired in 2021, and in 2022, they moved to Perry, GA.
A lifelong outdoorsman, Danny had a passion for fishing and hunting. It was often humorously noted that he would cast a line in any body of water, regardless of its size, from a mere two feet wide to expansive two-mile stretches. Above all, Danny cherished his grandchildren, taking joy in teaching them new skills and giving them rides on the lawn tractor. His patience and kindness left a lasting impression, and he was deeply loved in return.
