In August 2001, local diver from Co. Donagal Dan Keenan and his dive team discovered the remains of a US B-17 bomber in just over 20 metres of water off the coast of Inishowen Head.
Divers come from Europe and the United Kingdom to dive the deep war wrecks that litter the Irish coastline, but finding a virgin aircraft wreck at recreational diving depths is the stuff of a diver’s dreams—a once in a lifetime experience.
Dan Keenan and his team were among these fortunate divers when their perseverance paid off and they discovered the untouched remains of “The Melting Pot.”

My name is Daniel Keenan, but everyone calls me Dansby.
I grew up in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, and have played baseball since I was two years old. I have played at junior colleges in Dayton, Ohio, and Scranton, Pennsylvania.
Now I am settled at what should be my final college, Bloomsburg University in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania. I am getting ready for my first season here, which I am excited for as the team has been leading the conference for the last couple years. I was raised by an Irish family; my grandmother was from Westport, Co. Mayo, and my grandfather was from Roscommon. Me and my only brother, Riley, Irish danced and played the fife in a fife and drum band.
That was through the East Side Irish American Club in Cleveland, where we spent a lot of time with the family. I still have family in Ireland, but the only one with whom I communicate often is my father’s cousin, Fergus Keenan, in Dublin. I am currently studying accounting and training to be in the US Air Force. Given that one of those two options works itself out, I will either be an accountant or a pilot. Other than that, I am just enjoying college and playing the sport I love.

Over the course of his career, Daniel Keenan has designed, developed, and supported numerous sophisticated technical systems. At AngelMed, Daniel Keenan is currently in charge of all research and development. Research, product development, ongoing engineering, supply chain management, and technical services for clients, partners, and staff members are among his duties. Daniel formerly served as the Director of Clinical Affairs for AngelMed. Daniel oversaw the 100-site ALERTS Clinical Study while serving in that capacity. He also oversaw AngelMed’s international clinical trial operations in Germany and Brazil. In 2018, the FDA approved the AngelMed Guardian System thanks to the ALERTS Study findings. Daniel Keenan studied computer science at The Catholic University of America before joining AngelMed. After then, he worked for more than ten years as a researcher and developer for IP convergent communications at Bell Laboratories and later Avaya.
