Dan Keenan

Dan was born on February 18, 1929, in Joliet, Illinois, as the youngest of five siblings. He completed his education at Joliet Catholic High School, graduating in 1947. In 1953, Dan married his beloved wife, Elizabeth, who also hailed from Joliet, and they enjoyed 62 wonderful years together. He furthered his education at Kent State University and the University of Detroit, ultimately earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from West Virginia State College.

In 1954, Dan embarked on a remarkable 50-year journey in the automotive industry, starting at General Motors. His career also included positions at Volkswagen, American Motors, and American Axle, but he spent the majority of his time with Chrysler Corporation, where he rose through the ranks to hold significant managerial roles, most notably as the Corporate Manager of Material Handling Engineering.

Throughout his illustrious career, Dan was granted numerous patents related to automotive containerisation and packaging innovations. In July 1985, he gained recognition in a cover story for Modern Materials Handling Magazine and was featured in various articles that highlighted his pioneering contributions to containerisation. He was listed in several Who’s Who publications and received the title of Man of the Year in Plastics in 1986 from the General Electric Corporation – Plastics Division. Dan was an active member of both the American Production and Inventory Control Society and the Society for Packaging and Handling Engineers.

His professional achievements allowed him to travel widely across the United States and internationally to countries like Japan, Germany, Brazil, and Mexico. During the formative years of their four children, Dan dedicated time as a Scoutmaster and coached various sports teams in Bloomfield Hills. He was not only a skilled golfer but also a passionate baseball enthusiast and a keen student of the game.

Dr. Keenan is a highly respected managing partner at Foundation Equine Wellness and Performance, with extensive experience and involvement in the equine industry in New Jersey and nationally.

He has held key positions on numerous committees and boards, including past memberships on the Board of Directors of the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP), the Leadership Development Committee, Professional Conduct and Ethics Committee, and Educational Programs Committee of the AAEP. Additionally, serving as President and Treasurer of the New Jersey Association of Equine Practitioners, Vice President of the NJ Horse Council, member of the New Jersey Board of Veterinary Examiners, and on the Executive Board of the New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association.

Dr. Keenan has also represented the equine industry at the New Jersey Agricultural Convention and participated in various other committees related to equine welfare in New Jersey.

Daniel Keenan

Isabel Sharp, nephew Dan Keenan, sister Jean Sharp Waipiata Sanitorium – likely Jan 1932.

Jean was working for the Matthias family at Waipiata at the time and sister Isabel came up to see her, and nephew Dan Keenan who was recuperating in the Sanitorium at Waipiata.

Dan’s father then died in January 1932 and Austin Graham drove Isabel back to Tuapeka Mouth for Dan Sr’s funeral.

Dan James Keenan graduated in 2017 from Glacier Peak High School after starting his high school career at Sultan High as a freshman and then attending Arch Bishop Murphy as a sophomore.

Throughout his high school years, he was a standout defensive tackle, receiving an all-league selection in his senior year. He proudly earned his diploma with academic honors.

Dan James Keenan was born on March 23, 1999, in Snohomish, Washington, to parents Teresa and Dan. He has an older brother named Mitchell and an older sister named Kaitlin.

Following in his father’s footsteps, who played in the NFL for the Chargers organization, Dan has a passion for criminal justice and intends to major in that field in college.

In 2014 MK Sportscars was obtained by Danny Keenan. 

Danny Keenan was an employee of the business for a number of years. On the 26th November, the MK Indy Project was sold to Kitcardirect who are based in Essex and they thought to look into establishing the product back to its former glory.

Kit Car Direct had been serving MK Sportscars with parts and services for many years prior to the purchase, so it was a very smooth transition.
